Anglo American Educational Serviceshas recently concluded an affiliation agreement with Birkbeck, University of London.

Birkbeck, formerly Birkbeck College, is one of the largest established member Colleges of the University of London system, itself celebrated as one of the most renowned universities globally.

Through its link with Birkbeck, effective Fall Semester 2012, Anglo American will be able to offer visiting undergraduate students from its US partner institutions, exceptional opportunities by delivering a wide range of courses in Birkbeck’s London Semester programme.  These courses are conducted and supervised by Birkbeck’s teaching staff, who follow academic policies and guidelines both of the institution and of the University of London system.  Transcripts verifying the courses taken and grades awarded will come from Birkbeck itself.

Students will be able to choose from a broad selection of courses in humanities and social sciences, with a view to taking from one to four courses each semester.  This will be depend on whether students are pursuing a semester course programme only or taking courses in conjunction with an internship.  For the growing number of visiting US undergraduates pursuing an internship in London, enrolling at Birkbeck will enable them to take a course load sufficient to obtain credit towards their degree programme at their home campus.  It will, at the same time, ensure that they fulfill their “study” time in London as a requirement, intended to balance their internship practicum contact hours, according to UK Boarder Agency Visa Regulations.

Enrolled at Birkbeck, students under the aegis of Anglo American will be treated as Birkbeck students, replete with student ID and full access to the University’s extensive library, IT and student life facilities.  Additional privileges include reduced fares on London’s public transport network, as well as the national rail network.
